Född: Austria
Stephanie Rauch studied Stage and Film Design at the University for Applied Arts Vienna and the Wimbledon School of Arts London. She develops her work within the frame of visual arts as well as for scenografic settings, and makes this intersection the crucial point of her reflection. Her artistic approach is defined through spacial and environmental relations of theoretical texts and drama. One focus of her work is the research on the role of the recipient who will experience it actively. It is the people’s presence, that completes these art pieces. Stephanie Rauch realised Gelände at Tanzquartier Vienna/Galerie am Schillerplatz and the exhibition Handlungsanweisungen zum ersten Kapitel in collaboration with Elena Peytchinska at ImFlieger, Vienna. Amongst others, Stephanie Rauch creates spaces for choreographers and directors such as Claudia Bosse, Ute Monika Engelhardt, Philipp Gehmacher, Lisa Hinterreithner, Ian Kaler and Corinna Tetzel. For example my shapes, your words, their grey (choreography Philipp Gehmacher), Vienna; o.T. (the emotionality of the jaw), o.T. (gateways to movement) and o.T I (incipient futures) (choreography Ian Kaler), Berlin/Vienna; Letting go oft things (choreography Lisa Hinterreithner), Salzburg; ideal paradise CLASH (director Claudia Bosse), Vienna; LIVFE (choreography Ian Kaler), Vienna, as well as set designs for the opera plays An unserem Fluss by Lior Navor, The cunning little vixen by Leoš Janá?ek, A Wintey Spring by Sead Haddad and Il serpent di bronzo by Jan Dismas Zelenka at Oper Frankfurt.
